Its that time of the year again. For many Muslims around the world, late May to Mid June is a month of devotion to their god, Allah. Ramadan is a month of fasting and prayer to earn spiritual rewards and draws one closer to Allah. Muslims fast from dawn to sunset and eat only during sundown.
This year Ramadan falls from May 26th to June 24th, 2017. About 3.3 million Muslims reside in the United States, according to CNN as of 2015. During the month long celebration, they not only eat at night but also spend extra time devoted to Allah. They pray multiple times a day to seek blessings and enlightenment through the month for their success and a peaceful life. During this month, they believe in working hard and giving back to others to receive good karma.
At the end of Ramadan, they have a three day celebration, Eid Al-Fitr where they celebrate Ramadan by eating and spending the day with family.
From Mixed Up Clothing, we wish everyone a Happy Ramadan.
