A Legendary Evening: A Shea Moisture Review

I received an email from Ford Motor Company, which has a long history of recognizing amazing women in our society, saying I was chosen as this year's Mujeres Legendarias (Legendary Women) which honors women in the community that have personified Ford's pillars: Smart, Green, Quality and Safety.

Each year Ford selects four women in New York, Miami, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles that have made true differences in their communities and I was one of them!!

The email reads: "this year, for your spirit, enthusiasm and leadership in the Latina community, YOU have been selected as one of our 2017 LA Mujeres Legendarias."

Get out of here! I was floored.

I get up each day trying to be better than yesterday and I work hard in the multicultural community but I didn't expect this.

I couldn't believe someone like Ford was going to honor me for something I feel is my life's mission which is to amplify the voice of the multicultural community.

But they did and I was excited to be chosen and recognized.

I knew I wanted the day to be perfect so I pulled out all the stops. I scheduled a makeup appointment with Wendy of Red Lipstick Makeup Studio and I would do my hair courtesy of Shea Moisture.

I started by giving my hair a pep talk because y'all know how temperamental hair can be so I wanted mine to be on it's best behavior.

After using Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Curl Shine Shampoo and Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Curl Shine Conditioner, I sprayed my hair with Shea Moisture Leave-In Treatment.

I loved the coconut smell and ease of application. As I sprayed I scrunch up my hair to make sure I got it all covered. Nothing worse than dry spots.

After the spray was the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. I rubbed it on both hands and coated my curls being sure to grab strands and curl the hair while applying the cream.

After a couple of minutes of setting, it's time to diffuse my hair upside down.

I keep the diffuser pushing up the curls toward my scalp as it dries which helps give my curl some spring.

Once dry, I shake it out a bit and pick it out if needed. I never know where the part is going to be. It's always a surprise!

When the hair gods shine down on you, all is right with the world. Am I right?

You have more pep to your step and your confidence is sky high.

Well that's exactly how I felt this day going into the Ford Mujeres Legendarias event.

I felt so good about myself that I was able to just be in the moment and take in the evening with family, friends and new acquaintances.

When you feel good about yourself, you aren't self-conscious about your looks and you can focus on sharing your work and passion with others which is exactly what I did.

The evening was amazing and I'd like to thank Ford Motor and FSB Core Strategies for this honor.

Thank you to Shea Moisture for their work in the multicultural community and for providing products our community of "curlfriends" are looking for.

Before bed and while still on cloud 9 from the evening, it was time to remove my makeup and hit the sheets. I used Shea Moisture African Black Soap Clarifying Facial Wipes. It took off all my makeup and left my face feeling squeaky clean.
